I was Delighted to served as a member under the Directorate of Planning and Strategy
Committee of the @TokunboAbiru for Senate Campaign under the leadership of the

Representatives, Hon. Dayo Bush Alebiosu at his abode. The experienced lawmaker
offered words of advise as the poll day approaches.

Progressives Congress candidate for Kosofe local government chairmanship
election, Hon. Moyosore Ogunlewe and his running mate, Prince Babatunde Saliu
paid courtesy visit to GAC Member, Pa. Olumuyiwa Sosanya at his residence.
The GAC Member warmly received the duo while he also congratulated them for their emergence. And prayed for their victory in the upcoming Chairmanship Election

The APC Flag Bearer In Kosofe Local Government, Mr. Moyo
Ogunlewe, his running mate, Prince Babatunde Saliu, Kosofe GAC Member and East
Senatorial District Leader, Otunba Bushura Alebiosu and Mr. Lanre Carew met
yesterday at the leader's residence. Also present was former Member of the
House of Representatives and experienced lawmaker, Hon. Dayo Bush Alebiosu.
The meeting which was presided over by the East Senatorial leader
was geared towards reconciliation and pacification of aggrieved members of the
Local Government. The GAC member and East Senatorial Leader laid emphasis on
the importance of being united and formidable to defeat the opposition in the
forth coming Local Govt. polls.
The meeting ended on a fruitful and successful note.
While addressing the
LGA caretaker committee at the party secretariat along Ogudu road, Barrister
Moyosore Ogunlewe stated that it has become imperative for him following his
emergence as the chairmanship candidate of the party in the Local government to
pull the party together in order to chat a way forward and ensure victory for
the party at the forthcoming LG chairmanship election.
He said consequently,
he had been going round the Local Government Area to have reconciliatory
discussions with the party leaders and chairmanship aspirants that participated
in the primary elections in the local government, stressing that it is
important to build a united party in order to attain victory in the coming
local government election.
" We decide to
meet our party executives at the local government level for a great job they
have done over the years to sustain our party victory and show that we are
solidly behind the party and its executives. We have met various contestants
for reconciliation and said all the contestants are potential leaders and
equally qualified for the position of the Chairmanship of the local government,
"he said.
According to Ogunlewe,
the 2021 LG election is very important to the party in Kosofe so that at the
state executive council, the Local Government can be well represented, adding
that this could only be possible if the party executives work together to
attain victory.
His running mate,
Prince Babatunde Saliu in his address said although APC is indeed a formidable
party, contestants and other members of the party still need to come together
and work for the victory of the party in the forthcoming local government
election.
" We have absolute
trust and confidence in the leadership of the party in our local government. We
want to seek your understanding on certain thing in the local government and
give honour to whom honour is due especially to the leadership of the party at
the local government level. I belief in the wealth of experience of the two
party flagbearers for the position of Chairman and Vice Chairman of the local
government," he said.
One of the LGA
Caretaker Committee Members of the party, Hon. Bowale Benson, in his response,
implore the party members and leaders to forget about the primary elections and
work together for the success of the party at the polls.
While noting that all
the chairmanship contestants are potential leaders, he expressed confidence in
the ability of the youthful party’s flagbearer and his running mate to attain
victory at the forthcoming local government election.
The meeting had some of
the chairmanship aspirants: Hon. Lanre Oladunjoye, Hon. Olayinka Rabiu and Hon.
Ganiyu Oyebanjo and some leaders of the party at Ward and Local Government
levels in attendance.

JUNE 12 2021: DEMOCRACY DAY MESSAGE.
I join the good people
of Kosofe and Nigerians today in celebrating the day on which democracy and
civilian rule were restored.
Buhari's decision to
recognize 12 June as Democracy Day should be viewed as an attempt to placate
the South Western Nigerian State, which has always set aside the day to
remember Abiola's stolen mandate via an annulled election that many still view
as the country's freest and fairest in the history of Nigeria and democracy.
In Nigeria, as in so
many of our countries, the right for all citizens to enjoy equal participation
in the democratic process was achieved after considerable struggle and
suffering. We remember and celebrate all those who sacrificed so much for the
freedom we enjoy today.
The struggle to achieve
democracy gives it a special value and places responsibility on all of us to
support the democratic process. I congratulate Nigeria on its progress since
1999, including the first peaceful transition of power from a ruling party to
an opposition party in 2015. As we celebrate our progress, we encourage and
support Nigeria and its people to consolidate and deepen democracy as the
country heads towards important elections this year and 2023
Our concern as partners
in Nigeria is to see a process that is free, fair and inclusive. We are
particularly keen to see greater participation in politics from
under-represented groups, including women, young people and people with
disabilities.
Democracy is not only
about the voting process. It also requires a strong and ongoing commitment from
political actors to uphold the democratic ideals. I have noted with concern
recent reports of violence, intimidation and corruption, both within parties
and between parties. I take advantage of this national celebration of democracy
to urge all political parties to maintain Nigerian and international norms and
support a credible process. It is the fundamental right of the Nigerian people
to freely express their will now and in the forthcoming elections.
As we mark this year's
democracy day, let us remember some of our fellow citizens that laid down their
lives. Let us remember those that paid ultimate sacrifice before the country's
democracy was stabilized.
A better Nigeria is our
common goal, and its realization requires collective efforts.

democracy requires meaningful youth participation, because youth have a lot to
offer their Communities, States and Nations.

democracy at all levels gives them the sense of belonging which promotes active

processes and institutions.
More so, the young
citizens of today are the leaders and decision-makers of tomorrow. Where and
when youth are engaged in democracy, better political decisions and actions are
facilitated, understanding of democracy and action are strengthened, peace and
conflict resolution are attained because young people can build bridges across
communities.
